Taylor Swift 'Red' Tour

What better way to celebrate my sister Emma’s upcoming 22 birthday on August 22 than to belt “I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling 22” with Taylor and 15,000 other fans? That’s right. To celebrate in style we headed to the Taylor Swift ‘Red’ Tour.

With a birthday ahead and my brother Sean about to start his freshman year at USC, the Taylor Swift ‘Red’ tour at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles was a perfect place for a last sibling hurrah.

Ed Sheeran opened with new music and hits “the A-team” and “Lego House.” My favorite was his cover of Britney Spears’ “One More Time.” This was my first time hearing a broader selection of Ed Sheeran’s music and I thought he did a great job performing live.

When Taylor stepped on stage the energy level immediately skyrocketed. Cirque du Soleil type acts, dance routines and quick costume changes filled her two hour set and she was joined by surprise guest performers Cher Lloyd and Sara Bareilles.

I’m a huge fan of Taylor’s music, but what moved me the most at her concert was just how inspiring she is in real life. She spends a lot of time talking to the audience about her heartbreak and sadness and her messages of positivity are really uplifting. Taylor comes across as authentic and sincere and she just makes you want to be a better person. She has dealt with the same heart wrenching emotions we have all been through but is able to translate them into words and melodies and perform them in front of us all, for us all. Thank you Taylor, for an amazing tour. I will be a fan always!

Did you attend the Taylor Swift ‘Red’ Tour? How do you think it compared to her other tours? Leave me a comment with your thoughts below!
