Cruising Los Angeles: 5 Reasons to Choose the Mitsubishi Lancer
Note: The following is a guest post written by Lea Ann Christenson
Last week I had the pleasure of driving a 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer while in Los Angeles for business. The compact sedan, in a beautiful mercury gray, had many features that made driving a comfortable experience, whether I was on the city’s massive freeways or sneaking around traffic down side streets. Here are the top five reasons I recommend the Mitsubishi Lancer:
1. Highway Driving
Driving on freeways in Los Angeles can be nerve wracking, especially when tackling vast distances. For example, on my drive to Disneyland with our family I navigated from the 405 to the 10 to the 5. The drive included navigating six lanes of traffic and it was a bit intimidating to watch out for so many cars weaving in and out while looking for the correct exit.
The Mitsubishi Lancer has a solid feel and great visability. The sturdy structure and wealth of efficient mirrors and windows helped me feel safe and confident as I navigated my way to many place.
2. Easy on Gas
The Mitsubishi Lancer is not a gas guzzler by any means. The vehicle boasts 27 miles per gallon on highways and 34 miles per gallon in traffic. Gas is pricier in California than some other states so it is especially appreciated while driving in the state how easy on the wallet driving this great, sporty car is. In fact, despite driving all over the city for nearly a week, I only had to visit a gas station once during my visit.
3. Safety Features
As the years pass, staying safe while driving becomes more and more important to me. Thus, I was especially impressed with the vehicle’s safety features.
The vehicle comes equipped with a FUSE Hands-free Link System® with Bluetooth™ technology. This way I could make business and personal calls hands free, allowing me to keep my eyes on the road and off my phone.
It also boasts a 1 inch Touch panel display audio system with a backup camera. I loved the back up camera as I navigated tight parking spots including parallel parking. This feature really helped me be a safe driver while navigating all sorts of Los Angeles driving situations.
4. Convenient Seating
As a driver of this vehicle, I found the seating in the Mitsubishi Lancer to be very comfortable. I had great leg and headroom.
My family in the back seat also found the back seat of the vehicle to be very comfortable. The vehicle comes with 60/40 rear split seats so the cabin can be reconfigured based on your individual needs, whether it be extra passengers or extra groceries.
5. Four Wheel Drive
The Mitsubishi Lancer comes with a four wheel drive system. The electronically controlled all-wheel control system continually monitors the road and intelligently transfers powers and braking to the wheels that deliver traction. True, I didn’t exactly go off road while driving the concrete jungle of Los Angeles, but I did zip quickly around corners and noticed a smooth, sturdy feel.
As I drove through the sunshine of California, I thought to myself that these features would come in very handy during winter drives through the snow and sleet that will soon be a part of my daily commute.
