Rock out with a vacation to Kissimmee, Florida
Today I am excited to take a break from posting stories about my winter travels in Europe to share an exciting contest from my last home base in the United States, Kissimmee, Florida.
The Rock Your Vacation contest will offer one grand prize winner a VIP trip to the Central Florida destination in June, complete with roundtrip airfare, accommodation in a 7-bedroom home provided by All Star Vacation Homes and a slew of activities and excursions. Highlights include a visit to SeaWorld Orlando, hot air balloon ride, wildlife encounter at Gatorland, airboat ride at Wild Florida, concert at House of Blues, and meal at Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. The winner will get to bring up to five guests along to experience the prize and receive a red carpet welcome party sponsored by PoshAble events. The contest is delivered by Experience Kissimmee.

To enter, submit a 15-second video on Instagram that demonstrates how you would “Rock” the destination in style. Be sure to follow @ExperienceKissimmee and use hashtag #RockYourVacation. Once videos are approved, entrants must verify their video submission on RockYourVacation.com. The contest runs February 3 to March 16. A winner will be announced in April.
In addition to the grand prize, five-second place winners will receive a Samsung GALAXY Camera Wi-Fi (ugh I need this considering my camera broke on my recent visit to Geneva).
Do I need to even bother with explaining why a vacation to Kissimmee, Florida is a marvelous idea? As I travel the world I realize more and more that no one does theme parks or family entertainment like Central Florida.
Kissimmee, full of plenty of sun and fun, is located near Orlando and the world’s best theme parks including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando and SeaWorld Orlando. Anyone who reads this blog knows what a Disney freak I am. A job with Walt Disney World was what brought me to live in this region in the first place.
Besides the major theme parks, Kissimmee also is home to many smaller gems including family dinner shows, hot air balloon rides over the destination, and Chocolate Kingdom.
It’s also a great place to soak up the sunshine outdoors.
I can’t forget my absolute favorite, the world’s tallest skycoaster at FunSpot USA.
When I travel, I love to get off the beaten path and experience the indigenous qualities of a destination. When I lived in Florida, Osceola County was one of my favorite places to go to experience the “real” Florida that includes mostly swamps, gators and more gators.
There are a plethora of airboat ride operators in the area that allow you to get up close to both, and Gatorland, the region’s oldest theme park, offers interactions with hundreds of these ferocious chompers.
Ok, I am going to stop writing about Kissimmee now, because doing so is making me homesick especially since my current view of grey, cold skies pales in comparison to these pictures of Florida. So go enter this great contest and say hello to Kissimmee for me!
